OW Shredder

German software developer Hendrik Schiffer had a clear purpose in mind when he came up with OW Shredder: fast and safe data destruction. OW Shredder, as you can gather from its name, is a tool that can securely and permanently delete data. It can securely delete files and folders, it can erase entire drives, and it can erase free space on drives.

The minimum system requirements for running OW Shredder are: 800MHz processor, 56MB of RAM, 2MB of free disk space, .NET Framework 2.0, Windows XP. To get OW Shredder up and running, you will not have to complete any installation procedure, you will only have to run an executable.

OW Shredder’s interface has three themes to offer: Red (default), Lime, and Blue. The interface is accompanied by a desktop widget. If you don’t want to use the interface to erase data, you can add a Safe Erase option to the right click context menu.

Four buttons are presented at the top on OW Shredder’s interface:
Control – from here you can securely erase files, drives, and empty drive space. Set it so the computer will shut down once OW Shredder is done.
Tools – from here you can access a Disk Analyzer, a Cluster Analyzer, an Autostart Manager, and several other handy tools.
Settings – from here you can change the interface theme, choose a shredding algorithm, and play with other settings that govern how OW Shredder works.

OW Shredder gives you all you need to securely and permanently delete data. On top of that, it features a nice collection of tools that can prove to be quite handy.
